Has the SOLIS Pain Relief System been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)?

SOLIS Pain Relief System received FDA 510(k) Clearance in 2016 (K162630). FDA Clearance means that the FDA has deemed the device to be as safe and effective as a medical device previously cleared by the FDA; this is called “substantially equivalent.” This process is different from FDA approval of drugs and typically does not involve a review and analysis of clinical data. All transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulators (TENS) must be FDA cleared before they are marketed.

Is the SOLIS Pain Relief System eligible for FSA and HSA reimbursement?

Yes. The SOLIS Pain Relief System is an over-the-counter transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) device and therefore the SOLIS pain relief system is an eligible over-the-counter product for flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), and health reimbursement arrangements (HRA).

Will SOLIS work to relieve Trigeminal Neuralgia?

Unfortunately, SOLIS is not recommended for use on the head, and therefore, we do not recommend that you use it for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
